Netflix has announced that Yoshihiro Togashi’s Yu Yu Hakusho manga is getting a live-action series on Netflix.
Netflix contents acquisition director Kazutaka Sakamoto is the executive producer, and Akira Morii (Wild 7, Brave Heart Umizaru) is producing at Robot.
According to Anime News Network, Sakamoto said that he grew up with the original manga, and he still vividly remembers its excitement and impact. He also said that Netflix is assembling a team of the best talent from Japan and abroad.
Yu Yu Hakusho follows the adventures of Yusuke Urameshi, a teenage delinquent who dies in an act of sacrifice and is reborn as a Spirit Detective, tasked to investigate and solve matters involving the paranormal and supernatural.
In case you missed it, the entire Yu Yu Hakusho anime (all 112 episodes of it) is available to stream on Netflix Malaysia right now.
