Apex Legends Leak Shows Armor That Encourages Aggressive Play

YouTuber ‘The Gaming Merchant’ has come across some of Apex Legends‘ game files which might be introducing a new armor type. An armor type that ‘evolves’ into a stronger version when you kill more opponents.

Skip to the 1:52 mark for the part where he talks about the armour:

It’s not specified how many players you’ll need to kill to level up the armour, we only know that it can go up to Level 4. Here are the levels and their respective damage absorption capabilities:

Level 1 – 50 damage
Level 2 – 75 damage
Level 3 – 100 damage
Level 4 – 125 damage

Just to put things into perspective, wearing the Level 4 armor would bring your total combination of shields and health to 225. There doesn’t seem to be any game files indicating an ‘evolving’ helmet but if it does exists, it might just bump up that number to 300. That’s a sh*t ton of health.

Of course, all of this info should be taken with a pinch of salt. Nothing here is officially confirmed nor can it be verified. However, some Apex Legends fans have been complaining that the game’s current high-tier loot that becomes vital in late game such as legendary golden loot are a bit underwhelming.

Aside from trying to mitigate those issues, the ‘evolving’ armor (if it’s real) could be Respawn’s way of trying to encourage a more aggresive playstyle in the game. It’ll be the first time that the game gets an item that directly benefits from players getting more kills.
