Sony Delays Uncharted, Ghostbusters Afterlife & More
By Alleef Ashaari|January 22, 2021|0 Comment
It looks like the drama isn’t over for Sony Pictures’ long-gestated Uncharted movie. It has been delayed yet again; this time from its previous release date of 16 July 2021 to almost a year later on 11 February 2022.
That’s not all, as Sony Pictures is apparently on a delaying spree (via Variety). They have also delayed several other upcoming movies, including the following:
It’s clear that cinemas won’t be opening enmassed anytime soon, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The reason for these delays can probably also be attributed to the fact that Sony Pictures doesn’t have a streaming service to fall back on, unlike Warner Bros with HBO Max and Disney with Disney Plus.
Still, perhaps a trailer or something would convince us that the Uncharted movie is real. All we’ve gotten so far are these on-set photos. Well, better late than never. Greatness from delayed beginnings? We hope so.
