By Mr Toffee|September 14, 2022|3 Comments
Right before Tokyo Game Show 2022 week, PlayStation dropped a new State of Play video talking about its upcoming games for 2023 and beyond. And some new God of War Ragnarok footage, because why not?
Here’s what we’re getting on PlayStation 5 in the future.
Bandai Namco confirms a new Tekken sequel, featuring a new fighting game engine and a Jin Kazama vs Kazuya Mishima match in the middle of nowhere with waves crashing and rain pouring. Fun!
A VR game with Star Wars nonsense. Out for PlayStation VR2 in 2023.
A fantasy card game with miniatures for PS VR2. Fun for the whole family.
Remember that Ryu Ga Gotoku samurai spin-off on PS3? Now it’s getting a PS5 remake and is coming out in English for the first time under the new name Like A Dragon: Ishin! There will be more info on this in the RGG Summit 2022 on 14 September at 6:00 PM (GMT+8) — later today.
You’re being chased by aliens(?) or some mysterious force, and you have to drive your way out of trouble in your regular American travelling car. This adventure game is coming out in 2023.
An AI partner named Magus and a guy piloting a mecha team up to harvest crystals and escape from bad guys. The game’s slated for 2023 and is made by Bandai Namco.
“Armed with your mech, compete for resources, avoid the rain, and reclaim the ground humanity has lost, in a future where humans and AI must find a way to work together.”
A ponytail girl with sci-fi hack-and-slash powers and gun skills fight waves of monsters and robots in a Korean sci-fi universe. The game will be out in 2023 and will be made by Shift Up Corporation,
Here’s a new action open-world RPG title from Team Ninja, the people behind the Nioh titles and that one Final Fantasy game featuring Jack. The game is set during the Bakumatsu period in Japan, the final years of the Edo period. A PlayStation 5 exclusive slated for 2024.
Capping off the presentation is an announcement of the God of War Ragnarok PS5 DualSense controller (blue and white and with wolf-and-bear emblems) and some story/gameplay trailer action.
And that’s it for the games that are brand-new and actually want to get hyped about. Full State of Play livestream’s below:
