Loki keeps time slipping (on purpose, now that he can control it) to before Victor Timely went out to fix the Temporal Loom, but failed and it exploded. In a sort of Groundhog Day sequence, Loki repeats these events to figure out how to prevent the Temporal Loom from exploding.
He also literally spends centuries learning OB’s knowledge about time mechanics, physics and engineering.
In simple terms? It results in a bunch of nonsense techno-babble.
Infinite Earths, anyone?
We officially have the Marvel Multiverse now.
It’s another Groundhog Day situation as Loki repeatedly attempts to stop Sylvie from killing He Who Remains.
However, there’s a twist.
But why does he want to reincarnate?
He also reveals that the Temporal Loom is just there as a failsafe to delete unwanted branches and protect the Sacred Timeline, which we already kind of know.
Then, Loki goes back even further in time to earlier when Mobius first interrogated him back in Loki Season 1. From Mobius, Loki learns that no one chooses their comfort, only their burden.
Loki somehow creates Yggdrasill or maybe connects the branches of the Multiverse to Yggdrasill.
The latter seems more likely because Yggdrasill has always existed. Asgard and the other realms are proof of that.
Or what he did is symbolic, and that just represents the endless cycle of life and time and it only forms in the shape of Yggdrasill because Loki is Asgardian.
Whatever it is, Loki sacrificed his own life and bonds so that the Multiverse can live.
But he’s still alive.
Don’t ask me how, I’m not the One Above All.
There you have it, folks.
I guess the MCU’s Multiverse Saga has officially begun?
Until the next one, excelsior!
